Do War Rock GMs Really Play Other Games?
Written by Destravus
I was busy attempting to be a slacker, when Ludus came over to my desk. Not only did he demand that I give him free premium on his account, but also he forced me into writing an article for Gamer Scene. Unfortunately, I was caught off guard and didn't have time to make up a believable excuse to get out of work; thus you all will have the pleasure of reading this engaging and life-changing prose.
Despite rumors that War Rock GMs can mystically connect to War Rock at any time, from anywhere, on any computer, we're actually forced to expand our horizons and load up other games when it comes to killing time during scheduled maintenance.
As tempting as it is to pass out on the floor - or even on those giant beanbag pillows that seem to have magically reproduced within our office as of late - there are times when our gaming addictions go unsatisfied during those long and excruciating periods when we aren't able to play War Rock.
And you guys thought you suffered alone :)
The next time War Rock goes down for maintenance, scheduled, or unscheduled, instead of posting one of those joke pictures of the guy sleeping next to the server, you can picture the GM staff doing one of the following:
- Falling onto the floor, going into convulsions due to War Rock withdrawal
- Trying to make the time pass as quickly as possible by playing some of the other great games that are out there
By this point, you're probably wondering what other games we play. I mean, we've all been playing War Rock together for such a long time that it's natural to be curious about the other things that are going on in our lives, right?
And that's what this article is about!
(and by "other things in our lives", I mean "other games", because... umm... yeah... just keep going)
So I decided to interview Nemico and Hyperion about the other games that they play.
Destravus: So what other games do you guys play?
Nemico: Well I play a lot of console games... and...
Hyperion: I just play Sword!
Nemico: Shut up, Hyperion. You play Poker, too. Why don't you tell everyone your online Poker name, "HyperionFTW."
Hyperion: LOL. IT'Z HYPERION DROWNDING IN THE RIVER.
Destravus: ...anways...
Nemico: Well, I like to bust out the old RPGs. I play all the Final Fantasies over again, OH, OH, AND I FINALLY GOT MY POKEMON BACK!!!
Destravus: Ok...
Nemico: It's Pearl! Tell them it's Pearl!
Destravus: Alright. So, Hyperion, what is it about Sword of the New World that you particularly enjoy?
Hyperion: Well, it's fun, and I like pwning noobs.
Destravus: Any particular noobs you'd like to mention?
Hyperion: Well, there's this one named Destravus.
Nemico: Yeah, I heard he's a...
Destravus: YEAH ANYWAY! So, Hyperion, is Sword of the New World the reason you've been coming in late, half asleep?
Hyperion: Yeah, I haven't found a way to AFK while I sleep... yet...
Nemico: Hey, what level are you now?
Hyperion: 32!
Nemico: Cowabunga! I can share my unique items with you! I've got a +4 Strength +4 Stam Leather Belt! AGHHHHH! Level 18! OHHHHH!!!!
Destravus: Right. So, any other games you guys want to talk about?
Nemico: Well, I do like to go back and play a lot of old console games, but I don't really play any of them consistently. Hey, what are you writing there? Can you make us look cool for this interview? Like, talk about how Hyperion is working on his movie making skills, and I'm working on my music projects, and you're..."
Destravus: I sure can't. Anyways, it was good talking to you guys. I'm going to go take out some aggression by banning some hackers...
...And there you have it. The lifestyles of your favorite Game Masters!
At this point, you're probably wondering, "What about you, Destravus? What do you play?"
You guys know that I could go on forever, naming all the games I've played, and talking about what a big influence they've had in my life, but I'm just going to mention one and that's Dance Dance Revolution, baby.

PS: What games do you guys play? Everyone spam Ludus with your favorite game of all time, or a random opinion you have on something. He needs something to do so he doesn't just play Premium War Rock for free all day.
